Man arrested for illegal use of blowtorch in Prospect Lefferts Gardens building fire

The FDNY says it responded to 245 Hawthorne St. and found two hydrants blocked by cars.

A two-alarm fire in Prospect Lefferts Gardens left a firefighter with minor injuries and one person arrested for illegal use of a blow torch.
The FDNY says it responded to 245 Hawthorne St. and found two hydrants blocked by cars.
“Our units quickly stretch five hand lines into the six-story structure,” the FDNY posted on social media.
Heavy fire in three apartments on the top floor of the building was placed under control around 2 p.m.
Details surrounding the blowtorch arrest were not immediately available.
